Home Liqueur Blending Competition at The Elora Distilling Company!

Deadline to Enter: November 9th, 2026 

    Do you have an amazing liqueur recipe you want to share with the world? Ever wondered how that old family recipe would taste if was made in a professional distillery? Create your own original liqueur at home and enter it for your chance to have your recipe produced alongside The Elora Distilling Company as a limited, one-time release. 

    The winner will work with our distilling team to scale up their recipe to a professional 50L batch, and have the opportunity to be a part of the blending process, taking home a 12 X 500mL bottle case of their creation, AND getting a feature cocktail in the Royal Room for the month of December.

    The winner will retain all rights to their creation. 

    THE RULES

    • All entries must be received by November 1, 2026. Entry is completely free. 
    • Home Blending Only - No professionally made products. The finished liqueur must be made by the entrant.
    • Your entry must be made at home using commercially available spirits and ingredients. 
    • Commercially produced or professionally manufactured liqueurs, finished spirits, or other ready-made alcoholic products may not be submitted as an entry. 
    • Commercially available base spirits may be used as ingredients in your entry, Elora Distilling Company Spirits will be used in the final product.
    • No Home Distilling - Entries must be produced entirely through blending, infusion, maceration, flavouring, sweetening, or other non-distillation methods. 
    • Your entry should be your own original blend or recipe. You may use commercially available ingredients, flavourings, fruits, herbs, spices, sugars, syrups, and other ingredients as part of your creation. 

    Base Spirits and Restrictions

    Vodka/Neutral Grain Spirits, Rum, Whisky, and Gin may be used as your base. 
    Entries may not use other spirits including but not limited to:  
    Tequila 
    Brandy 
    Cognac 
    THC, CBD or any cannabis derivative distillate 

    Sample Submission must be received by November 9th 2026, at 12pm .

    Each entrant must submit one 200 mL sample of their finished liqueur, labeled with your name, contact information, and the name of your creation. You must include the ingredients and basic production methods used to made your liqueur, however please do not share the recipe with your submission. 

    This information will be used to evaluate the entry and, if selected as the winner, to determine whether the recipe can be scaled for production.

    Judging

    Entries will be evaluated by Elora Distilling Company based on factors including:

    • Flavour and balance
    • Aroma
    • Originality
    • Drinkability
    • Creativity
    • Potential for use in cocktails
    • Suitability for commercial production 

    The judges' decision will be final. Winner will be announced by November 16th, 2026.

    All submissions belong to their creator. Elora Distilling Company will not reproduce or claim ownership to any entry from this competition.
